Understand Your Patterns. Rewire Your Story.

About Mel

I believe therapy should be more than sitting across from someone asking, β€œAnd how does that make you feel?” Healing happens when we understand why our brains and bodies respond the way they do, where those patterns came from, and how we can begin creating something different.

I’m Mel, an Associate Clinical Social Worker with a background in mental health and a strong interest in the connection between trauma, attachment, relationships, and the nervous system. My approach is warm, direct, collaborative, and human. You don’t have to perform, have the perfect words, or make your experiences easier for me to understand.

I am EMDR trained through EMDRIA-approved training and integrate trauma-informed approaches into my work. My additional specialized training includes Somatic Trauma Therapy, intensive trauma treatment incorporating EMDR, CBT, and somatic-based interventions, attachment-centered Play Therapy, Narcissistic Parenting Recovery, grief, and working therapeutically with open relationships, polyamory, and other forms of consensual non-monogamy.

My work is especially informed by the ways early relationships can shape our nervous system, self-worth, attachment patterns, boundaries, and the relationships we choose as adults. I enjoy helping clients understand not only what they are experiencing, but what may be happening underneath it.

I work with individuals and couples navigating trauma, anxiety, attachment wounds, relationship difficulties, identity, family-of-origin patterns, narcissistic family systems, emotional dysregulation, grief, and non-traditional relationship structures.

Therapy with me isn't about turning you into a different person. It's about helping you understand the person you became to survive, while creating enough safety to discover who you want to be now.

Your brain adapted. Your body remembered. And both can learn something new.
